For the first time, the Middle Tennessee Science and Engineering Fair (MTSEF) was able to send 5 projects to the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Phoenix, Arizona! These seven finalists experienced the world’s largest pre-college STEM competition. In addition to presenting their research projects to judges and guests from around the globe, they traded pins with their fellow finalists, enjoyed an exclusive night at Chase Field, and attended Symposia with influential scientists.

Among the many highlights of the event, two finalists stood out for their exceptional achievements. Parker Nunnery earned a $3000 special award from the National Anti-Vivisection Society for her project: Regulation of the PPARγ Pathway in Lung Cancer. Read more about her award here.

At ISEF, the MTSEF Official Party met with Co-Founder, President, and Chief Scientific Officer of Regeneron, George D. Yancopoulos, MD, PhD. We are grateful for the continued support of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals as a fair sponsor and their efforts to advance STEM education across Middle Tennessee.
